Preventive Dental Care in San Antonio
Regular Exams and Cleanings
Regular exams are an important part of maintaining your oral health. During a regular exam, we will:
- Check for any problems that you may not see or feel
- Look for cavities or any other signs of tooth decay
- Inspect your teeth and gums for gingivitis and signs of periodontal disease
- Provide a thorough teeth cleaning
- Take X-rays and/or photos of your teeth
A regular exam and professional teeth cleaning will take approximately 45 minutes. Each regular exam includes a detailed teeth cleaning, in which we will clean, polish, and rinse your teeth to remove any tartar and plaque that has built up on the tooth’s surface.
Visiting our office every six months gives you the chance to talk to Dr. Jabbour about any questions you may have about your oral health.
Digital X-Rays
Using the most advanced dental technology possible is just as important as staying up-to-date on the latest treatment techniques. Blanco Crossing Dental is dedicated to providing you with the safest and most convenient treatment options available.
Digital X-rays provide several advanced imaging options that are designed to save time, provide clearer dental photos, and expose patients to less radiation than with traditional X-ray technology.
Dr. Jabbour and our team are focused on making your dental experience as comfortable as possible. If you have any questions about our digital X-rays, please ask one of our friendly staff members.
Dental Fillings
Do you have mercury-silver fillings that you would like removed? Or do you need a cavity filled? Our San Antonio dentist, Dr. Jabbour, can safely remove your mercury-silver fillings (also known as amalgam fillings), and replace them with natural-looking porcelain crowns and mercury-free composite fillings. For small to mid-size cavities, composite fillings are durable and resistant to fracture.
If you are concerned about the implications of having amalgam fillings, please contact the friendly staff at Blanco Crossing Dental in San Antonio. We will set up a consultation with Dr. Jabbour to discuss replacing your fillings with composite fillings.
Advantages of Composite Fillings:
- Natural-looking results
- Durable and resistant to fracture
- 100% mercury- and metal-free
Extractions
If a tooth has been damaged due to injury, has become infected due to gum disease or decay, or if a baby tooth didn’t become loose and fall out naturally, it might be necessary to have the tooth extracted.
If our San Antonio dentist, Dr. Jabbour, determines that a tooth needs to be removed, it may be extracted during your regularly scheduled appointment, or a follow-up appointment might be required. Once a tooth has been removed, a dental implant or dental bridge may be needed if the surrounding teeth are expected to shift.
