United Concordia and TRICARE Dental Program (TDP)
The TRICARE Dental program is a dental plan that is available to active duty service members, active duty service member families, and National Guard / Reserve members and their families.
United Concordia is the administrator of the TRICARE Dental program. Members of the TDP are able to perform administrative tasks – such as filing claims and viewing dental coverage – with their United Concordia account.
TRICARE Dental Plan Options
There are two options within the TDP: Single and Family.
If you choose the family plan option, your entire family must enroll except for family members requiring special medical treatment options, family members residing in different locations, and very young children (12 months old or younger.)
How Dental Insurance Works
We have worked with United Concordia to offer discounted dental services which are below our standard rates for patients carrying insurance plans for which we are in-network.
Dental insurance typically offers deep discounts or full coverage for preventive procedures (like exams and cleanings), and lesser discounts for restorative procedures. So your cleanings and exams may be fully (or mostly) covered, but you may only receive discounts for other dental services. Some dental services have little to no coverage.
That said, coverage varies greatly by insurance provider and plan.
